The more than ninety years of renowned experience in business consulting represent a significant legacy of Michelson Law Firm.
Its founder, Dr. Guillermo Michelson, played a prominent role in academia and, as a distinguished member from 1958 until his passing in 1975, contributed to various Reform Commissions for commercial legislation, which profoundly transformed Argentine Commercial Law.
These Reform Commissions produced, among other projects, the current Insurance Law and Corporate Law in force in Argentina. He also participated in drafting and reviewing legislative projects concerning Banking Contracts, Auxiliary Agents of Commerce, Negotiable Instruments, Transfer of Commercial Assets, Trusts, Unfair Competition, Bankruptcy, and others.
His successors, attorneys Guillermo Michelson Irusta and Jorge Eduardo Michelson Irusta, the latter until his passing in 2010, continued the firm’s legacy in Commercial Law, actively contributing to the country’s economic modernization process. Their work notably included advising on matters related to State Reform, Privatization of Public Companies, Foreign Direct Investment, and corporate reorganizations and acquisitions.
In a context of market globalization, the firm has specialized in a crucial area: conflict resolution through extrajudicial methods such as negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. This is evidenced by the extensive experience its members have accumulated as negotiators, arbitrators, and counsel in such proceedings, both within the MERCOSUR framework and in other national and international forums.
